Kianna Joe
She/Her/Hers
Navajo
Founder of She Towers Zine.
“She Towers was founded on the idea of sharing your art in whatever medium that may be, at any stage of your art journey”.
She Towers comes from founding creative, Kianna Joe's, Diné culture.
Kianna's second clan (Father's clan) is kiin'yaa'anii, which translates to, Towering house.
At a young age, Kianna lost her father and has always strived to keep his memory alive.
Storytelling and creating has been her main form of remembering and staying close to him.
Corbert Joe Jr., her father made and sold jewelry. With that, he was also a roadman who traveled all around Navajo land, healing and providing guidance to those who sought and needed it.
On his travels, Kianna trailed alongside him, making many memories, learning about culture and traditions, as well as hearing stories.
Kianna created She Towers with a love for storytelling and culture. She hopes to provide the Zine space for other Indigenous people wanting to put their voice out into the world as well.
